Gently Does It

I am madly in love with Origins products, so when the brand’s supremo exfoliater ‘Modern Friction for the Body: Nature’s Gentle Dermabrasion’ won a Cosmo Beauty Award, I knew it was time to give it a try.

The dermabrasive cream buffs away dead surface skin cells leaving skin fresh, smooth and glowing. Simply apply the thick and grainy paste to skin which is prone to ageing and needs a touch of care; shoulders, chest, shins and thighs are a good start. Wait a minute and massage the gommage in.

You’ll start to see your skin turn brighter before your eyes and the paste will pick up the dead skin. sloughing cells away. To finish, jump in the shower and the watch the Modern Friction lather. The addition of water turns the touch cream into a silky smooth foam, which feels wonderfully moisturising.

As for the results, I’ve tried this desirable product just twice in the past week and my skin is ready to bare all. Not only does it feel soft and sensuous but it looks like velvet and simply glows. Needless to say, it has pride of place on my bathroom shelf and will do for a long time to come.

Faux Your Glow

Written by Lindsay: As a facial fake tan virgin (I can’t bear the thought of streaks!) this week I finally grew tired of my increasingly miss-matching face and body and took the plunge with Origins Faux Glow facial tanner. Although I was apprehensive, this light textured tanner was perfect for a beginner as it goes on tinted, develops quickly and soothed my sensitive skin with rosemary and orange extracts. In around 40 minutes my skin had developed into a natural golden glow and a few more days use ensured there wasn’t going to be any scary orange build up to look forward to. I’d say this tanner was best suited for lighter skin tones -as it’s not a particularly deep- and although I wasn’t convinced by the scent (a minty-sweet, mojihto meets gummy bear smell) for ease of application, believable colour and the lack of streaks, I’d give this an A+!

Guardian Angel

I do love a good face serum. There seems to be a serum for every possible need; acne healing, glow giving, anti-aging. My favourite serums protect the skin from external aggressors; working to prevent dehydration, dirt and oxidisation from settling in. After all, prevention is better than cure.

A Perfect World White Tea Skin Guardian from Origins is one such marvel. Using silver tip white tea, a potent anti-oxidant, the creamy gel-like lotion forms a bubble around the skin which stops nasties like pollution from attacking. It’s a perfect choice for people in their early twenties as it has anti-aging benefits; meaning it prevents aging rather than trying to reverse its effects.

As if that wasn’t good enough, Skin Guardian makes your face unbelievably velvety and smooth; a perfect base for make-up.
