I mentioned last week that I had a lot of Barry M reviews coming so we best get started don’t you think?
First up is the Deluxe Eyeshadow Kit; a palette of no less than 9 gorgeous eye colours in rich purples, gold, copper and bronzey brown, sooty black, sky blue and a lovely aqua green.
The colours are vibrant and the formulas surprisingly creamy. These deep pigments are usually only seen in more pricey eye-shadows. You could buy one more expensive shadow OR you could buy this kit for around the same price (£9.95) and get 9 colours instead. It’s a no brainer.
I love the purple shade for eyes that really wow.
It’s not too late to indulge in Guerlain’s Midnight Butterfly Collection. The pretty packaging will have friends cooing over your make-up bag and the formulas are lovely too.
The eyeshadow palette is a real treat and although the colours look vivid and daring in the shiny box they are fairly subtle. Despite the name you could easily wear this during the day and build up the colour for night.
My favourite piece is the Kiss Kiss lipstick in Delicate Butterfly. It looks scarily white in the tube but it adds a pearly sheen to lips. I like to wear it alone but it if you want to add some shimmer to your favourite lippy then just slide it over the top.
A great collection for a sophisticated lady!
By Lindsay: As the niece of an Avon Lady I’ve long been a fan of the brand’s great-value hair, body and skincare range, and I’m happy that theyare finally ditching their old-fashioned image and coming out with some pretty excited products. In fact for the first time, I’m actually considering buying an Avon product because of what it looks like, and not despite it! Their newest collaboration is with finish fashion giant Marimekko, and the two have come together to produce these pretty compacts for cheeks and eyes, only £8 each and featuring the brand’s cute Unikkopoppy-print.
Once on, the colours weren’t as vivid as I expected, but instead the soft-textured powder provided a sheer wash of colour that stayed on all day (no creasing!) The shimmer was really subtle, and although I usually stick to neutrals, the muted pastels in the eye palettes blended brilliantly, making a look that seems perfect for summer – if it ever comes!
