Written by Laura: There’s nothing worse than getting your groove on in a sweaty club; dancing like you own the place and feeling fantastic, only to go to the loos and find your eyes bleeding black trails down your face.
The messy look may work on the catwalk but on us mere mortals the effect is less than desirable. Worry no more – Prescriptives Moonbeam Reflective Eyeliner comes in eight colours; all with a pleasant metallic smudginess.
I like ‘beaming black’ for an interesting take on classic smoky eyes for evening. Whether you favour feline flicks or something heavier, this stuff won’t budge no matter how many shapes you make on the dance floor.
I’ve been after a new eyeliner. My usual smudgy pencil is too erm, smudgy, in this heat. My black eyeliner is too gothic for my sunshine-obsessed state of mind. Brown isn’t dramatic enough.
What’s a girl to do? Well, part of Clinique’s new ‘long last bronze’ range has come to my rescue. The brush on cream liner in bronze is dark enough to make an impact and has a shimmery copper hue to it which makes it ideal for summer. Add to the equation that its long last formula can withstand the heat (and associated general stickiness) and it is a first class eyeliner. The little pot comes with a mini lining brush and costs just £12.00… bargain!!
I’m loving the heat wave. I adore the fact that it is sunny outside and I can finally wear some summery clothes. What I am not enjoying is the sun pouring onto me through my window as I sit at my desk working. By the afternoon I’m like a sweltering dog in a hot car and my make-up has slid down to a pool of beige, black and pink gunk at my jawline. I’m melting, I’m melting!
Thank goodness for Clinique, that’s all I’m saying. They really have brought out their new Long Last Summer Bronze collection in the nick of time. Not only are the products in beautiful colours with wondrous textures, they last all day – and they really do! I’ve got a few products from the range which I’ll be reviewing today. Let’s call this Clinique day shall we? They have after all saved my summer cosmetics conundrum.
