In winter we add extra layers of clothes and wrap up to stay warm, but what about our skin? It needs extra protection from the cold too after all. Well, during these bitter Winter months Elemis Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift Mask is a life-line for drying skin.
OK, I admit this mask isn’t made for winter nourishment. Instead, it is an anti-ageing product. The cream is smooth and has a consistency much like a thick moisturiser – leave it on for about 10 minutes and rinse away with warm water. You’ll be left with skin which is so hydrated, so supply and so plumped up you’ll be dying to use it again. It’s also perfect to use when it’s cold outside as it soothes tight dry skin.
If you’re struggling with what to treat your lovely Mum to this Christmas then this mask from Elemis is a great contender. Break out the wrapping paper if you can bare to part with the shiny silver bottle.
When you’re asked if you want to review the new Elemis Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift Facial, it would be so rude to say no. This new anti-ageing facial from Elemis is clinically proven to reduce the number of fine lines and wrinkles by up to 94% and improve skin firmness by up to 57% after just one treatment – so I was keen to see how it would work for me.
First my therapist applied a gentle rose petal cleanser, then a series of masks. While the ingredients were busy unravelling the ravages of time I enjoyed an arm and hand massage. Finally the star product – the pro-collagen quartz lift mask – was applied. While this was ‘setting’ I had a blissful scalp massage.
The mask peels off sci-fi style, a bit like a floppy Oscar, and you can see the indentations where it has picked up uneven skin tone and tiny blemishes.
A coating of the pro-collagen marine cream, across face and décolleté, and I’m ready to look in the mirror. My skin is radiant. The next morning my skin is still plump and glowing and my fine lines are less visible – praise be!
Verdict: A great facial for targeting early signs of ageing and in my experience the effects last for at least a week. Great preparation if you’re about to begin an anti-ageing beauty routine.

Good news is that the Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift Mask by Elemis (£45, 01278 727830) is now available to buy. It uses two key anti-ageing ingredients – Quartz and Noni – which uplift the skin and give it a younger, firmer appearance. The beauty of this product is that you can use it as a mask or you can leave it on overnight, making it the perfect and easy-to-use At Home Facial.
There’s nothing better than disappearing to some far and exotic land for a week on a sun-washed island with nothing to do but drink cocktails and indulge in spa treatments. Or so I would imagine, as it is not something that I have yet had the pleasure to partake in. Rest assured it’s on the top of my wish-list.
Until I reach paradise, I’ll continue to create my own tropical haven at home and there are 2 products I have found which are just the ticket (apart from a one way to the Maldives… obviously). To find out more
Elemis Exotic Frangipani Monoi Moisture Melt and Exotic Lime and Ginger Salt Glow have turned into my ultimate de-stressing products. The scent of the lime and ginger scrub is sharp with a bite of citrus, whilst the Frangipani Oil and mouthwateringly sweet. The two make an unexpected but delightful aroma when used in the same sitting.
The fragrance of products is really important to me when it comes to unwinding, but so does texture. Whilst the scrub is course enough to do its job, shedding dead skin cells, it is a cinch to work into the body and washes away without any trouble.
The oil need warming in hot water when the weather is cold so turn it from it’s solidified state into the sugary liquid gloop I know and love. Yet It doesn’t make skin slimy, just moisturised and shimmering with luminosity.
The scrub is an indulgent treat at £35, but the Monoi Oil is a real multi-tasker. Use it as a hair treatment, body moisturiser, cuticle oil, massage balm or foot and hand treatment. It’s your call.
Now where’s that Margarita?
By Lindsay: Although I will happily spend a whole lot of money on beauty products, I rather resent spending money on anything other than the most essential treatments (aren’t they all about relaxation rather than results?)However despite my misgivings, the Elemis SOS facial at their flagship Day Spa in Mayfair seriously confounded my expectations. Far from the empty ‘de-stress’ promises of other treatments, this delivered tangible results (as well as feeling completely heavenly) and the masks and facial massage really felt like they were benefiting my sensitive, acne-prone skin.
After the treatment there was no sign of redness or breakouts and my skin felt unnervingly soft and clear with a radiance and glow that certainly wasn’t there before. I even felt confident enough to spend the rest of my day sans make-up (something I never do) and my complexion remained clearer and more plumped up for the next ten days. The skin consultation, which was included with the facial, is a nice touch (the therapists at the spa are pro’s at diagnosing skin type) and the six mini Elemis products that I was given after prolonged the results.
